There is vast variety of microorganisms. You can find them anywhere. They can live freely or can live as parasite. They can be found in every type conditions(from hot water springs to cold snow).
Some can prepare their own food(autotrophs) or some dependent on others for their food(heterotrophs).
They can engulf solid substances(phagocytosis) or can engulf liquid(pinocytosis).
Hope it helps.

how do microorganisms live?
==========================
Answer=> Novozymes harnesses the natural capabilities of live, beneficial bacteria to help degrade and remove organics that ordinary cleaners or products miss. Novozymes’ liquid products contain live bacteria in a dormant state called spores, while dry products may contain both dormant and nondormant (active) bacteria. All of the bacteria used in Novozymes products are considered safe and nonpathogenic (do not cause disease/illness in healthy individuals) and are in the Biosafety Level 1 containment group, which means they pose a low risk to individuals and communities.
What the microorganisms eat ?
===========================
Answer=> Some non-plant microorganisms consume smaller plants and animals, and many are either parasitic or feed on the remains of animals farther up the food chain.
