mixture is just combining two things they can be easily removed by physical means but compound is formed by chemical bonding of 2 elements which are unbreakable by physical means and can be separated only by chemical means
for example sand mixed with stones is mixture and sodium reacts with chlorine to form sodium chloride is compound
