Hi friend,
All the cells except few mature cells like neurons exhibit cell division. The previous cells called parent cells divide either by mitosis or meiosis and give rise to new daughter cells. Thus, we can say that new cells arise from the pre-existing cells.
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU:-))

hey friend,
you would be thinking how new cells arise from pre-existing cells.
well, they arise from pre-existing cells by reproduction.
it can be binary fission or it can be multiple fission
it can be budding (it doesn't only takes place in hydra but bacteria also!)
hope it helps:)
