Novels helped in nation building as the novelties not only wrote about their native areas but also of other regions too. This helped in creating pan-India feeling. For example, the writers Bengal wrote extensively about Marathas and Rajputs helping people of one region identify with the struggles of other regions. Novels like Bengali novel, Angurio Binimoy, inspired the freedom fighters.
In addition, the novels written on subjects like social oppression and plight of women appealed everybody, irrespective of the areas the people belonged to.
