Oil is a organic solvent and and comparatively less density than water so it floats on the top of the water as fish some time or other come out for any reasons .may get affected due the oil molecules getting caught in their bills and would lead to death of them

oil on the surface of water does not allow sunlight to enter in the water and if sunlight will not enter the sea plants could not make oxygen so in that condition death of marine life occur...........
