In solid the particles do not move from there. In liquid the particles move but slow as compare to gas.In gas the particles move very quickly.

Matter can exist in one of three main states: solid, liquid, or gas. Solidmatter is composed of tightly packedparticles. A solid will retain its shape; the particles are not free to move around. ... Particles can move about within a liquid, but they are packed densely enough that volume is maintained.
