how do people living in desert areas get water for household use?

people living in deesert areas get water for household use throuugh covered and insulated canal.....which does not let the water evaporate due to heat..............n thus transports water to houses.
the insulated covering does not let outside heat to enter thus keeping the water temp. moderate.Rain water harvestation  is also helpful(storing rain water and later using it).Oasis is also found but not in all deserts...hence the above two methods are mainly applicable...........hope i helped u:)

there is underground facilities..the people can dig it out.
also they conserve water from the scanty rainfall for long days.
also water source called oasis is there.
