The planets all formed from this spinning disk-shaped cloud, and continued this rotating course around the Sun after they were formed. The gravity of the Sun keeps the planets in their orbits. They stay in their orbits because there is no other force in the Solar System which can stop them.

sun's gravity is so much that it attracts all planets. then you might be thinking that if there is so much gravity why are all planets not getting inside the sun ?? because the revolution of all planets produces a centrifugal force which tries to throw the planets in different direction.sun's gravity and centrifugal force are so perfectly balanced that it looks like planets are intact.interesting right ! that is why I want to be a astronomer.
