plants get nitrogen from the soil . plants cannot absorb nitrogen directly from the atmosphere. they get nitrogen from the soil which are either fixed by nitrogen fixing bacteria called rizobium which are present in the roots of legume crops when nitrogen rich fertilisers are sprayed

Plants gets nitrogen when nitrogen fixing bacteria ex. ribosomes converts it into usable form.
