Plants multiply through spores by the process sporulation.

Spores are the product of multiple fission which become individually surrounded by resistant coats.

Release of spores from parent body is known as sporulation.

Its outer covering helps to overcome unfavorable condition.

Two types of spores are there....

1. Zoospore

  • Motile.
  • Have flagella (one / two).
  • Can swim in water.
  • For eg. fungi & simple plants (algae).

2. Conidia

  • Non-motile.
  • Exogenous in origin.
  • Develop on the tip of hyphae of fungi.
  • For eg. Penicillium , Aspergillus , etc.
