how do plants obtain nutrients other than carbohydrates​

Plants obtain most of the nutrients other than carbohydrates from the soil by their roots. Thus if the soil is deficient in any nutrient they are enriched by using fertilizer , so that plants can absorb them through roots.

Answer: As we know that carbohydrates is made of carbon dioxide (Co2) in the similar way plants prepare Protein with nitrogen or nitrates ( soluble nitrogen). The sunlight trapped by the chlorophyll is converted into chemical energy which synthesizes the water and the nitrogen to make proteins.
