Plants produce their food by the process of photosynthesis. Water and minerals is absorbed by the root of plants and with the help of carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere under the presence of chlorophyll causes a chemical reaction producing starch and evolution of oxygen which is released by the plant to the atmosphere.
