Plants respire through their leaves and the process is known as respiration. In this process the bottom part of the leaf takes part,it contains stomata which helps in inhaling CO2 and exhaling O2.This process continues during day time

The roots take in air present in the soil. Leaves have stomata through which they exchange gases.  The breakdown of glucose in plant cell is similar to that in other living beings.
