How do political parties faced the challenges of dynastic succession?

See it is not always nessecary that the prodigy of the leader is worth leading the political party. We have seen this in the case of Aurangzeb and also in the case of Bindusar( although they didn't belong to any parties but the were not worthy successors). One example, according to some, can be Rahul Gandhi. The political parties with such a structure acts like a dynasty so it is difficult for the one who is worthy and also at lower position to become leader. And as you can see it is a major problem.
