Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells differ in physical features as follows
- The eukaryotic cells are comparitively larger in size than the prokaryotic cells.
- Prokaryotes are unicellular structures and do not possess membrane bound organelles. On the other hand, Eukaryotes can be unicellular or multicellular and most of the organelles are membrane bounded.
- There's a difference in DNA size and structure too. Prokaryotes generally have a circular DNA and smaller in size . While the eukaryotic organisms have a linear DNA comparitively greater in size.
- Prokaryotes are generally surrounded by three layers on the outside . It includes plasma membrane, cell wall and capsule (slime layer in some). While all Eukaryotes possess plasma membrane and cell wall in case of plants.
