If the pH of rain water is less than 5.6 it is said to be acid rain. The rain drop present in the atmosphere reacts with sulphide and carbonate present in the air forming carbonic acid and sulphuric acid. If this acid flows into the water it lower the pH of water thus aquatic life will get difficult.
