rainbow is made when the water drops in the atmosphere present in the air interact with the sunlight which consists of 7 colors ..when it strikes the raindrop it forms a band of 7 colour known as spectrum ...which we generally call rainbow❤️✌️

When white light passes through a glass prism it converts into seven colours as (VIBGYOR). And after raining,dew drops left behind on leaves act as a glass prism and reflect light into seven colours;which in turn came to be known as a Rainbow.( It is the band of seven colours known as Spectrum)
