Urbanisation and industrialisation never have any negative impact on environment. Industrialisation and urbanisation is a process . A process of development ,a multidimensional phenomenon.

Industrialisation is not only related to growth of industries but it is a process of value addition .The process of change from an agrarian and handicraft economy to one dominated by new technological manufacturing. It makes people's work more easier.

Urbanisation is again a process of becoming urbane . It is a process of being developed. Urbanisation always gives people more choices and also gives insights to think in a positive manner . Development is multidisciplinary in nature and urbanisation is a component of development. It is a process of reorganisation and reorientation of entire social system and social environment.

Industrialisation and urbanisation is not a process with a beginning and end rather it is a continuous process,a never ending series of actions intended to promote constant improvement in the health and prosperity of the people.

But definitely , urban growth and industrial growth leads to many types of pollution . It not only causes river pollution but also land ,air and light pollution.

Water pollution caused by industrial and urban growth…

There are basically five primary sources of water pollution―domestic sewage, agricultural runoff, industrial effluents, wastewater from septic tanks, and stormwater runoff.

Industrial water pollution is caused by the discharge of harmful chemicals and compounds into water, which makes it unsuitable for drinking and other purposes. Although 70% of the Earth is covered by water, only water bodies like lakes, ponds, rivers, reservoirs, and streams provide us with fresh water, and so, keeping them clean is an issue of survival not only for humans but for all other forms of life.
