REPRODUCTION IN HUMAN BEINGS .

FERTILISATION IN HUMANS .
In humans internal fertilisation occurs in the fallopian tubes or oviduct of females .
The sperms(male gamete) are released into the vagina by the penis( male reproductive organ ) during mating.
Millions of sperms then travel upwards towards the oviduct ,where one sperms fuses with the ovum ( female gamete ) to form the ZYGOTE .
The fertilised egg or zygote continues its journey down the oviduct into the uterus .
The zygote implants itself in the uterus wall and develops into a human embryo .
If the ovum is not fertilised by a sperm it is expelled from the uterus along with the lining of uterus and blood the vagina. This is known as mensuration ..
