Almost all the major rivers of the country are inter-state rivers and their waters are shared by two or more than two states There are perennial disputes going on such as: i) Cauvery water dispute between Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. (ii) The Krishna water dispute between Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

as scarcity of water in present scenario is very high because there is need of water everywhere and the population is increasing day by day this can be a reason for conflict between two states.
