the extent of absorption of a gas on solid is depend on following factors are -
surface area of absorbent : the extent of absorption increases with the increase of surface area of the absorbent . Thus, finely divided metals and porous substance having large surface areas are good absorbents.
It depends on the nature of gas. More easily liquefiable gases are absorbed readily.
Low temperature is favourable for absorption . It decreases with increase of temperature.
