1)Small scale industries contribute about 40% of gross industrial value added in economy.
2)45% of total export from India comes from small scale industries.Gems,jewellery, handicrafts, sports goods,etc are some items of exports from Small scale industries.
3)Small scale industries generates employment it is the 2nd latest employer after agriculture.
4)Small scale industries provides large number of variety of goods and products.I t provides goods like stationary items, soaps,detergents , ready-made garments,etc.
5)Small industries contribute significantly to the balanced development of country as they produce simple products using simple technologies and depend on locally available resources.Both labourer and material can be set up anywhere in the country.
6)Small industries have the advantage of low cost production as they use locally available resources which are less expensive.
