WORKING OF SOLAR CELLS:
◆ Solar cells are made of semiconductors.
◆When light falls on these, an electron is ejected from the structure of the
semiconductor.
◆These electrons are made to flow by applying an electric field across the solar cell.
◆This flow of electrons constitutes an electric current.
USES OF SOLAR CELLS:
◆Solar cells are used to give power to man-made satellites in space.
◆Solar cells are also used to give power to water pumps and street lights in remote places where there is no electricity.
hope this helps you.
