Solids are rigid and they have a defined shape, volume and size.

Liquids have the ability to flow. They don't have a definite shape, they take the shape of the container they are put in,but they have a fixed volume.
Gases have neither definite shape/size nor do they have a fixed volume.Gases also, like liquids have the ability to flow (they are not rigid),thus they do not have a fixed shape as they take the shape of the container they are placed in.The reason behind why gases do not have a fixed volume is because, their volume can be easily changed by compression to match the volume of the container they are placed in, whereas solids and liquids have volumes which are not so easy to change.

Answer:

Solids have a fixed shape and occupy a fixed volume. Liquids, because they flow, can occupy whatever shape their container has, so they do not have a fixed shape. ... Gases can also flow, so occupy the shape of their whole container. They do not have a fixed shape

Explanation:

The molecules in gases are very apart from each other. Therefore, gases neither have a fixed volume nor a fixed shape. ... It takes the shape of the container it is put in.
