How do sound vibrations of atoms differ from thermal motion?​

The sound cause's vibration of atoms and such vibrations for a sound wave are very ordered. The direction of motion of individual particles of the medium is in the direction parallel to direction of flow of sound energy. Whereas, the thermal motion of atom is very random and atoms can move in all directions.
