The substances like CO2 and water move in and out of a cell by diffusion from the region of high concentration to low concentration. When the concentration of CO2 and water is higher in external environment than that inside the cell, CO2 and water moves inside the cell

Question :

how do substance like CO2 and water move in and out of the cell. discuss?

Solution :

The substances like carbon dioxide and water move in and out of the cell because of the two processes :

★ Diffusion : The carbon dioxide is able to move in and out of the cell because of a process name as diffusion. Diffusion is a process by which particles move from a region of low pressure to high pressure.

★ Osmosis : The water is able to move in and out of the cell because of a process name is osmosis. Osmosis is as same as diffusion but it is related to water. We can say that Osmosis is the diffusion of water.
