Actually, one of the biggest deserts on earth is Antarctica.But the main driving force for ‘deserts’ is wind factors, so the world’s patterns of winds favor deserts in the subequatorial (or subtropical) regions because the air there tends to move ‘up and out’ rather than ‘in and down’.
