Blood brings deoxygenated blood from all parts of the body and releases it in the alveoli...and take oxygenated blood from the alveolar air...and takes it to the heart for transportation of blood to all parts of the body.

: AND IN THIS WAY ALVEOLI HELPS IN EXCHANGE OF GASES.
