It requires a large amount of water which reduces water table. The water of river and lakes when combines with chemical fertiliser I takes their water contaminated and affect the lives of aquatic plants nd animals which lives.. In punjab it increased the production of crops but reduced water table nd soil fertility. .23-May-2018
