The formation of micelles is the cleansing action of soaps and detergents.
When both are dissolved in water the hydrophobic tail of soap i.e. hydrocarbon tail gets attached to dirt in clothes and hydrophilic part of soap i.e. ionic part gets attached to water. When water is drain8 out the micelles formed flows along with water and attached dirt and volthes get cleaned.
