how do the hair of certain animals help in keeping their
body warm

The hairs trap the heat of the body of the animal as they have air in them and as we know air is a bad conductor of heat this provides them a protective layer which helps in keeping them warm.

It’s just because they hv a layer of fat which in their body keeps them warm for a longer time
