Explanation:Most optical instruments involves laws of reflection or laws of refraction. Examples are: microscopes, camera, telescope, magnifier and others.

One optical instrument that involves both reflection and refraction is reflecting telescope. It uses one curved mirror  and one lens to form an image.

Based on the image, the light that is coming outside was reflected by the mirror to the opening on the side that reach the lens which is called the eyepiece. This is a great explanation on how reflection is used to reflect the image then the lens is used to enlarge the image.
