Hand loom industry was the largest cottage industry in India. Hand loom weavers were provided raw material such as yarn, chemical, and dyes for processing, knitting, and braiding of cloths by master weavers.

Master weavers used to collect the finished goods at the very cheaper price and sell these goods at very higher prices in the countryside and thus makes the huge profits. In this way, hand loom weavers were indirectly depended on master weavers for the employment.

Master weavers collect yarn to them and collect the finished products from them.

They pay wages to the handloom weavers at piece rate.

The hand-loom weavers thus depend on master weaver on getting employment so weavers were attracted towards the profit from removal of import restrictions and re-regulation of industries giving boost to power looms and mill sectors.
