There are three types of mersitematic tissues:
1) Apical Mersitem- It results in the growth of the apical parts of the plant i.e the tips of the roots and shoots.
2) Intercalary Meristem- This Mersitem leads to the growth in the girth of the plant.
3) Lateral Mersitem- This Meristem leads to the growth in the height of the tree
