The muscles attached to bones bring about movement as many of the skeletal muscles are attached to the edges of the bones that meet at the junction. At the point where muscles contract, they pull the bones, making them move.

Muscles can pull bones, but they are unable to  push them back to the original position. So they work in pairs of flexors and extensors.

The two types of muscles Biceps and Triceps are involved in bending and straightening the arm.
