Magnets can lose it's properties by many ways, namely Fire (heat), dropping it, and giving it shocks with a hammer or other ways.
Explanation:
- Fire (Heat) - Heating magnets past it's metling point (Curie Temprature) can make the atoms to move highly, does ruining the atoms magnetic field.
- Dropping - Dropping magnets also gives a shake to the magnet, thus reducing the magnetic field. (Same thing would happen if a huge meteor fell on earth)
- Shock - Shocking is similar to dropping but with a hammer or other objects
