How do the words Look on my works , Ye mighty,and despair prove to be ironical ?

This line is ironical as what is written on the pedestal and what the statue shows is diff. The pedestal says that Ozymandias was a mighty King and no one could defeat him. But the statue was lying shattered and the face was half sunk in the sand.
