when the pendulum reaches the end point i.e amplitude(maximum displacement from mean position) it stops.. so it doesnt have kinetic energy... therefere

Total energy = PE + KE = PE +0 =PE

when it passes from mean position its velocity is maximum so u can relate energy is totally converted to Kinetic Energy... thus

Total Energy = PE + KE = 0 + KE

= KE

and if you are a student of 11th standard you will find derived formulas for KE and PE...

i.e PE = 1/2m (omega)^2 x^2

(where x is displacement from mean position and its 0 at mean position)

similarly you cam relate this with KE formula too
