Answer:

Trees have long roots which travel more than metres long. Some trees like coconut trees have long roots which travel deep and long even horizontally. This type of nature is to absorb water and nutrients such as mineral salts.but they have one more advantage too for the soil and not for tress this time .The soils help tress in standing upright and in turn tress help in soil in preventing soil erosion or washing away of top soil. Trees help the soil by holding it up and thus preventing it from soil erosion. and even slows down flow of water and obstructs the wind. The branches and leaves prevent heaving drop of water of hailstorms and thus protecting the soil.
