How do u know if this sentence has a Declarative adjective or Emphasis adjective:

This is the very dress I wanted to buy.

It has "This" which is declarative and "very" which is emphasis so which one is it?

IT IS AN EMPHASIS HERE

BECAUSE THE SENTENCE WOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECT EVEN WITHOUT "VERY" BUT STILL IT HAS BEEN INSERTED TO GIVE AN EMPHASIS TO LET THE READER KNOW THAT IT WAS THAT "PARTICULAR" DRESS SHE WANTED TO BUY.
