1.positive zero error: the zero of vernier scale is right to that of main scale ( remember as RIP — right is positive)

If it exist , zero correction (Z.C)= Least count × z.error

In taking reading , d= (MSR + L.C × VSD) — Z.C

2.negative zero error : the zero of vernier scale is left to that of main scale ( remember as , just vice versa of +ve zero error)

Then , Z.C = L.C × z.error

In taking reading , d= (MSR + L.C × VSD) + Z.C
