The biggest difference between viruses and bacteria is that viruses must have a living host - like a plant or animal-to multiply, while most bacteria can grow on non-living surfaces. There are some useful bacteria but all viruses are harmful. Antibiotics can kill bacteria but not viruses.
Viruses are different from other microbes in these ways---------

1.viruses does not show signs of life outside a victim cell.
2.they can only reproduce when they attack any cell, unlike other microbes which can reprouce freely.
3.they are much smaller than other microbes.
