How do war weapons destroy the purity of atmosphere? Explain with reference to the poem " No Men Are Foreign". What universal appeal the poet makes through the poem. ( Answer it in 80-100 words)
Answers
The poet uses the words ‘defile the human earth’ to signify that the purity of the atmosphere is being destroyed. The earth belongs to all humans, but it is humans themselves who create boundaries. Humans sow hatred in their hearts against foreigners and themselves go to war, forgetting that all humans are essentially the same. The ‘hells of fire’, fueled by hatred, burn the earth. When a nation goes to war, it goes through a hellish time. Wars have always caused tremendous destruction, loss of human lives and a gross violation of human rights. The poet’s anti-war sentiments are very strong. He feels that wars destroy the very ‘innocence Of air’. Given how devastating wars are, his appeal to people all over the world is to prevent wars, and understand the idea of universal brotherhood (that all humans are the same).
