A centrifuge works by spinning mixtures around a central axis.As the sample spins the tendency of the inertia of the object is to move in a straight-line path. However, due to its confinement within thecentrifuge, the path of the object must be bent into a circular one.

Answer:

Washing machines use centrifugation to squeeze out water from the clothes. The clothes are spinned at a high speed, the wet clothes press against the wall due to centripetal force. Thus, the water in the wet clothes are squeezed out through the holes in the wall.
