How do waves cause erosion and deposition?

hey mate here is your answer:

As the wave crashes,it moves up onto the beach in a motion called swash. Swash moves sand and other sediments up onto the beach and deposits it.

After the wave moves up the beach and when it come backwards it pulls the sediments with it towards the sea.
