the respiratory system helps us to breathe.we take in air through our nostrils which pass to the lungs.as when we try to breathe in the diphragm moves downwards increasing the volume of the chest cavity and thereby decreasing the pressure so as to allow the air from the atmosphere to get inside...also the alveoli in the lung are in close contact with minute capillaries which take the oxygen from the air and gives carbon di oxide to it.later the diphagm moves up reducin the surface area of the lungs and the volume decreases inside the lungs..pressure increases and the air filled with co2 is expelled out of the lungs.

When we breathe the air enters our body through our nose. Then our chest cavity increases which increase the space present in our lungs, as the lungs expand air is sucked through our nose or mouth, it travels through our windpipe then into our lungs. Then, as the space in the chest cavity gets smaller, air rich in carbon dioxide is forced out of the lungs and windpipe, and then out of your nose or mouth.
