The sources of Medieval Indian history is richer than the sources of Ancient India. There are plenty of written records and memoirs.

● Official records have been found relating to the history of the Turko-Afghan and the Mughal rule in the India.

● Many contemporary writings also have been found and discovered from the medieval times. Al Beruni's famous chronicle 'An Enquiry into India' tells about the country when Sultan Mahmud invaded India.

● Certain Biographies and memoirs also are present to give the account of the medieval history. The famous lyrical 'Prithviraj Raso' by Chand Bardoi, Firoz Shah Tughlaq's Fatuhat-i- Firoz Shahi and memoirs of Babur and Jahangir are very important.

● Various foreign travellers also wrote about India and it's conditions during the medieval time. A few of them were Ibn Batuta, Abdur Razzaq, Nikol Kanti, Payer.

● During the Sultanate and Mughal periods, the Sultans used to implement their own coins with various encravings on them, this also depicts the economical conditions of that particular period to which the coin belongs.
