A fuse is nothing more than a short length of wire designed to melt and separate in the event of excessive current. Fuses are always connected inseries with the component(s) to be protected from overcurrent, so that when the fuse blows (opens) it will open the entire circuit and stop current through the component(s).
Fuse is always in series in circuit. There will be no use of fuse , if we connect it in parallel in circuit. If we do so current will flow continuously even after fuse open the circuit. so fuse always connected in series so that in case of over load or short circuit, it will open or disconnect the circuit… as shown in figure
Loads can be connected in parallel with power source having fuse in series.
