We can detect it by the kinetic energy of the particles .KE is the property in which the particles moves continuously.as the temperature rises particles moves faster.so therefore wen we lit the agarbatti the particles posses kinetic energy and moves faster due to temperature.so we r able to recognize it

we can smell the agarbatti by the process of diffusion as we know diffusion tooks action rapidly with gas and as the gas of agarbatti releases by the process of diffusion the gas particle moves very fast in the room and we can detect it because it have been spread all over the room and it's smell is also very good so we detect it fast.....
