Heating Test & Reaction with Potassium dichromate solution: Sodium nitrate: On heating sodium nitrate will produce reddish brown coloured gas.. When this gas passed through acidified Potassium dichromate solution turns the solution into brown. Sodium sulphate: On heating Sodium sulphate produces colourless gas. When this gas passed through acidified Potassium dichromate solution turns the solution into green.
